Effects of Straw Timing Cuts on Vees

August 20, 1997

In order to study accuracy of straw timing assignments on tracks I looked at it's affect on a sample of vees containing a K-short signal. The vee sample is taken from three files in run 10716.
I have implimented two timing dependant cuts:
  1. Timing Conststant - which requires both tracks to be in the same rf bucket.
  2. RF=0 - both tracks must be consistant with the triggering bucket.
In addition I have required that at least one of the two tracks must be within the acceptance of at least one straw view. In other words I have removed all vees that do not pass through the straws geometrically. On the left I plot the K-short mass of vees that pass the respective cuts i and on the right I have plot the mass vees that failed.
