Straw Chamber Tracking Efficiency
Straw Chamber Tracking Efficiency
September 27, 1996
The straw chamber tracking efficiency was measued with muon data at 1550
volts, 1600 volts and then at preliminary operating voltages which
range from 1600 to 1625. A track is defined by hits in at least two of
the three layers. The efficiency is unbiased and absolute. Tracks from
the PWCs which could be extrapolated through the straws were used to as
the denominator.
Much work is still required to complete the straw tracking package, but
I beleive that I have shown that they will indeed work as a traking
system operating in this voltage region.
